Navy Cruises To Easy Win On Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC -- The Navy squad came from behind with a total of eleven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take an easy 14-3 win over Blue in a long, seven-inning scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium that saw eleven pitchers see action.
Caleb Roberts scored from third on a first-inning balk to give Navy an early 1-0 lead. Blue came back with two runs in the bottom of the second. Tomas Frick drove in a run with a single, then Jack Riedel scored on a fielder's choice to give Blue a 2-1 lead. Blue then scored its final run of the game on Mac Horvath's RBI-single in the third.
Navy rebounded with five runs in the fourth and six in the fifth. Clemente Inclan, Hunter Stokely and Colby Wilkerson drove in the first three runs of the fourth with RBI base hits, then Johnny Castagnozzi drove in the last two runs of the inning with a single to left center.
Colby Wilkerson and Tyler Causey started the scoring in the fifth with two-run singles. Jake Holtzapple then drove in a run with an infield single, with another run scoring on an error. Caleb Roberts capped off the scoring with a two-run single in the sixth.
Colby Wilkerson led Navy by going 3-4 with two RBI. Caleb Roberts, Tyler Causey and Jake Holtzapple each had two hits for Navy. Mac Horvath led Blue by going 2-3 with one RBI. Clemente Inclan had a triple, and Caleb Roberts and Tomas Frick each doubled for the game's only extra-base hits.
Tanner Quick and Caleb Cozart got the starts. Nick James, Kyle Mott, Davis Palermo, Chris Joyner, Joseph Charles, Kyle Blendinger, Cannon Pickell, Josh Dotson and Nik Pry threw in relief.
