CHAPEL HILL – Head coach Donna J. Papais pleased to announce the addition of junior catcher Taylor Greene. Transferring from Arkansas, Greene has three years of eligibility remaining.

In two seasons at Arkansas, Greene played in 20 games, recording two hits and drawing seven walks. She assisted six outs from behind the plate. As a sophomore, Greene made three starts in nine games. She singled for the first hit of the season against No. 9 Florida State. The catcher made her first start of 2020 against Villanova before the season. Greene was named to the SEC academic honor roll in 2020. In her first season at Arkansas, Greene made eight starts in 19 appearances. The catcher recorded her first collegiate hit and scored a run against Tulsa. Greene earned SEC first-year academic honors and was named an Easton/NFCA scholar-athlete.

Prior to Arkansas, Greene was a catcher at Cambridge High School where she is the all-time leader in home runs and runs batted in. Ranked No. 37 in the final FloSoftball Hot 100, Greene helped the Bears to three region titles and the Georgia 6A state title in 2016. The 6A State Player of the Year following her junior campaign was also named the 2014 and 2015 Region Defensive Player of the Year. Greene played travel ball for So Cal Athletics and was a  JO Cup national champion in 2015 and 2016 with East Cobb Bullets 18 Gold.

A Milton, Georgia native, Greene is the daughter of Perry and Marjorie and the sister of Lauren and Derek.
