CHAPEL HILL - University of North Carolina senior Rachel Jones was named to the 2021 CoSIDA All-District Women's Soccer Team, which was announced by the organization Thursday.
The honor is the second consecutive for Jones, who was voted Third Team Academic All-American last season, after she compiled a 3.95 grade point average (GPA) earning her bachelor's degree in public policy before enrolling in the UNC School of Law for the 2021 fall semester.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Jones will once again be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with honorees being announced in early December.
A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Jones was previously named to the ACC All-Academic Team, president of UNC's Student-Athlete Advisory Council and a member of the ACC's Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
On the pitch, Jones earned First Team All-ACC honors in 2020 and was named a Third Team All-American. She was logged nearly 4,600 minutes during her four years as a Tar Heel. She enters the 2021 NCAA Tournament with 14 career goals and 17 assists, including two goals and five assists this season.

The Tar Heels will face South Carolina in the first round Saturday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. on Dorrance Field.
