Trio of Tar Heels Picked As McDonald's All-Americans
February 23, 2021 | Women's Basketball
The North Carolina women's basketball program will welcome three more McDonald's All-Americans to Chapel Hill this fall.
When this year's 24 honorees were announced on Tuesday, UNC signees Destiny Adams, Teonni Key and Kayla McPherson all saw their names on the list.
The Tar Heel trio makes UNC one of four programs nationally – along with Connecticut, South Carolina and Texas – to have three or more players on the roster. The 24 honorees are split among just 12 schools.
Adams is from Whiting, N.J., and attends Manchester Township High School. Key is from nearby Cary, N.C., and attends Cary High School. McPherson is from Hull, Ga., and attends Madison County High School.
They're joined in the class by Morasha Wiggins from Kalamazoo, Mich.

Current Tar Heel freshman Deja Kelly was a 2020 McDonald's All-American, giving the Tar Heels four honorees on the 2021-22 roster.
