Carolina Notes
• Carolina lost at home for the first time this season (8-1).
• It was the 18th non-conference loss in the Smith Center in 229 games.
• The 83 points were the most allowed by UNC at home this season (previous 76 by NC State).
• Marquette led 45-29 at the half. That was the largest halftime deficit of the season (previous 12 vs. Texas, at Iowa and at Clemson, all losses).
• Marquette shot 51.8 percent from the floor. The Golden Eagles are the third team to shoot 50 percent against UNC this season (Georgia Tech and Duke).
• Carolina committed 19 turnovers and forced 18. The 19 turnovers are the most by UNC since it had 20 at Miami on 1/5.
• Marquette made nine threes (came in averaging 6.9). UNC's opponents have made 79 and shot 42.5 percent from three in the eight losses this season.
• UNC was 0 for 6 from three-point range in the first-half and finished 5 for 18.
• Carolina's perimeter players were 8 for 34 from the floor (RJ Davis was 4 for 10; the rest of the perimeter players were 4 for 24).
• This was UNC's latest non-ACC regular-season game since the Tar Heels defeated Louisville in Charlotte on 2/27/1977.
• It marked the first time UNC played has two regular-season non-ACC games in February or March since the 1988-89 season, when the Tar Heels defeated Old Dominion on February 14 and Nevada on February 21.

Tar Heel Player Notes
• Garrison Brooks matched his season high with 18 points (also in the loss to Texas).
• Brooks matched his season high with eight field goals (also at Pittsburgh).
• Day'Ron Sharpe had a game-high 11 rebounds, his sixth double-figure rebound game of the year (also had 11 in the previous game vs. Louisville).
• RJ Davis (11) and Walker Kessler (10) also scored in double figures. It was the 11th time for Davis and third for Kessler (all in the last three games).
• Kessler made a season-high five field goals in six attempts.
• Caleb Love did not make a field goal for the first time this season (made one free throw) but had seven assists, which tied the second most he's had this season.
