Five From UNC Set For NCAA Men's Fencing Competition Thursday

Five Tar Heels will fence on Thursday as the NCAA Men's Championship gets underway in University Park, Pa. Hosted by Penn State, action begins at 9 a.m.
Epee kicks off the day, with freshmen Reza Merchant and Henry Shugart representing the Tar Heels. Foil starts at 11 a.m., with junior James Mulligan competing for UNC. At 1:30 p.m., junior Beni Rabinowitz and freshman Alec Mulvaney will compete in sabre. Each weapon will fence rounds 1-3 on Thursday.
On Friday, all three weapons will fence rounds 4 and 5 starting at 9 a.m. The semifinals and finals will start at 1 p.m.
The women's competition is set for the same schedule Saturday and Sunday.
