No. 1 Women's Tennis Downs Hokies, 4-1

BLACKSBURG, Va. - No. 1 North Carolina played a rare Friday morning match at Virginia Tech from the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Tar Heels remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-1 victory over the host Hokies.
North Carolina improves to 18-0 on the season, and 8-0 against the Atlantic Coast Conference. Virginia Tech slips to 4-12.
The match was delayed for 90 minutes because of wet courts and got underway at 11:30 a.m. Carolina notched the doubles point for a 1-0 lead. Elizabeth Scotty and Makenna Jones won 6-0 on court two, before the newly minted, third ranked duo of Sara Daavettila and Cameron Morra won 6-1 on court one to clinch the opening point in the match.
UNC's standout freshmen - No. 114 Reilly Tran and No. 51 Fiona Crawley - quickly made it 3-0 with a pair of straight-set victories.
Junior No. 28 Cameron Morra picked up the clinch point on court one to give the Tar Heels their 36th straight win.
Carolina, who has won 43 in a row at home, returns to the friendly confines of Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center to host Notre Dame on Sunday at 11 a.m.
