Three Earn All-America Honors At NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Three North Carolina swimmers and divers earned All-America honors on Friday at the 2021 NCAA Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Tar Heels moved into 20th place heading into Saturday's final day of competition.
Junior Anton Down-Jenkins and sophomore Alex Hart both advanced to the finals of the 3-meter diving event to earn points for the Heels. Down-Jenkins wound up fourth after setting a new program standard with a score of 450.05.
Hart placed eighth with a score of 346.75.
Tomas Sungaila finished 17th in the 200 free with a time of 1:33.48, while Boyd Poelke and Jack Messenger were 23rd and 40th, respectively in the 100 butterfly.
The evening finished up with Carolina placing 18th in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:24.46. The relay was swam by Tucker Burhans, Abaliksta, Boyd Poelke and Messenger.
