Tar Heel graduate student Petra Holešínská will compete in a Carolina uniform one last time.
The guard from Vracov, Czech Republic has been selected to take part in the Rocket Mortgage Women's 3-Point Championship as part of the 32nd annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships on Thursday evening. The event will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse on the Butler University campus in Indianapolis.
Holešínská finished the season as UNC's top long-range shooter, with 56 three-pointers and a .354 shooting percentage. She ranked eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in threes per game and 11th in three-point percentage.
"Getting invited to the college three-point contest means a lot to me," Holešínská said. "I take a lot of pride in my shot and it's great to see that my hard work isn't going unnoticed. I'm also thankful for the opportunity to put the Carolina uniform on one more time. Being a Tar Heel means so much to me and I'll make sure I represent the program as well as I can."
In participating in the contest, Holešínská follows in the footsteps of her coach. UNC head coach Courtney Banghart took part in the contest in 2000 when she was a senior at Dartmouth.
