McArthur Named Region Athlete of the Year

Heading into this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, North Carolina's Daniel McArthur has added another honor to an already successful season. The senior from Mooresville, N.C., has been named the Southeast Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA.

McArthur won the 2021 ACC Indoor Championship in shot put with a throw of 20.69m (67-10¾), which set meet and school records and ranks fourth nationally this season. The shot put champion for the third year in a row, he was named the Men's Field MVP following the ACC meet.
