Collins Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society
April 14, 2021 | Football
CHAPEL HILL – Carolina football graduate Trevor Collins has been named to the 2021 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday. The NFF Hampshire Honor Society is celebrating its 15th year and is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play and the Collegiate Sprint Football League who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.
Â
A Ramseur, N.C. native, Collins graduated with a cumulative 3.2 GPA, earning his degree in exercise and sport science in the fall of 2020. He appeared in 25 games over his last two collegiate seasons at long snapper and perfectly executed on all 159 of his field-goal and extra-point snaps.
Â
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society capitalizes on the NFF's current National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of student-athletes the NFF can recognize each year. Jon F. Hanson, the chairman and founder of The Hampshire Companies and NFF Chairman Emeritus, provided the funds to launch the NFF Hampshire Honor Society in 2007. Celebrating its 15th year in 2021, the initiative has previously honored 12,167 student-athletes since its inception.
