• North Carolina represents the No. 3 seed in the Lubbock Regional and will begin play on Friday against UCLA.
• The Tar Heels are 109-71 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and have reached the College World Series 11 times, most recently in 2018. For just the third time in their last 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, UNC will begin regional play away from Boshamer Stadium.

• Weekend starter Max Carlson was shut down halfway through the season due to an arm injury.
• UNC junior Joey Lancellotti will miss the rest of the 2021 baseball season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last week. Lancellotti made four appearances for the Tar Heels this season with an ERA of 2.45.
• The Tar Heels check in seventh in the ACC and 33rd in the country in home runs with 65.
• Scott Forbes is the only first-year head coach among Power 5 conference programs in 2021.
