Gary Joins Tar Heel Softball for the 2022 Season

CHAPEL HILL – Head coach Donna J. Papa is pleased to announce the addition of incoming outfielder, Chloe Gary. Gary was a four-year letterwinner at Draughn High School in Valdese, N.C., who will come to Chapel Hill in the fall of 2021.
A team captain at Draughn her senior year, Gary was named to the All-State team by the N.C. Softball Coaches Association three times. With only 14 games in her senior season, Gary batted .500 with a .963 slugging percentage, including five home runs for the Wildcats. She was also named All-State her freshman and sophomore seasons, as well as All-District and All-Northwestern Foothills her senior season. Gary was also a standout volleyball player for the Wildcats.
A Connelly Springs, N.C. native, Gary is the daughter of Laura Albright and Carlos Gary, and the sister of brothers Nick and Malachi. Gary plans on studying Psychology while at Carolina, with the goal of becoming a Physician's Assistant.
