Five Tar Heels Named To Preseason Men's Lacrosse All-America Teams

CHAPEL HILL -Â The North Carolina men's lacrosse team placed five players on the 2022 Inside Lacrosse Preseason Men's All-America Team, released on Thursday.
Chris Gray and Connor Maher were among four Atlantic Coast Conference players selected to the first team, earning preseason first-team honors for the second year in a row.

Collin Krieg, Zac Tucci, and Matt Wright were honorable mention selections.Â

Last season the Tar Heels won their first ACC title since 2017 when it claimed the tournament championship. UNC last shared a regular-season title in 2016. The team advanced to its 14th appearance in the NCAA semifinals, where they narrowly fell to ACC foe Virginia 12-11. Carolina will open its 2022 regular season at home against Richmond on Friday, Feb. 11.Â
