Men's Lacrosse Freshman Dom Pietramala to Redshirt 2023 Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Dom Pietramala, a freshman attackman for the University of North Carolina's men's lacrosse team, will medically redshirt for the 2023 season.
Pietramala has a lower body injury that will require surgery in the coming months. The Baltimore native will redshirt for the spring season while he rehabilitates at UNC.
The highly-ranked recruit and graduate of Boys Latin of Maryland was an All-Conference, All-State & All-American for his high school team prior to his arrival in Chapel Hill for his college playing career. Dom was the USA Lacrosse Magazine Mid-Atlantic Boy's Player of the Year and was named the C. Markland Kelly Award winner as the State's top player.
"The Carolina Lacrosse program is gutted for Dom," said Head Coach Joe Breschi. "He is an incredible student-athlete and was prepared to come in to make a huge impact this season on the field, and he'll continue to be a valued member of the team while he's recuperating. We can't wait to see him come back pain free and stronger for the 2024 season."
