Boykins, Maye Repeat As ACC Players Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina football's Drake Maye and DeAndre Boykins have earned ACC Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row after their standout performances last Saturday in the 38-35 win at Duke. Additionally, Maye has been named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List for the third time this fall.
Maye is the ACC Rookie of the Week for the fifth time in 2022 and the quarterback of the week for the third time, while Boykins continues his outstanding work as the league's defensive back of the week for the second successive week.
QUARTERBACK/ROOKIE – Drake Maye, North Carolina, QB, Huntersville, N.C.
Finished 28-for-38 with a career-high 380 passing yards and three touchdowns in the Tar Heels' 38-35 win at Duke • Added 70 rushing yards to compile 450 total yards of offense, also a new career high • Connected with wide receiver Antoine Green in the front right corner of the end zone with 16 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead and game-winning score • It was the first time UNC scored in the final minute to win a game since 2016.
DEFENSIVE BACK – DeAndre Boykins, North Carolina, DB, Concord, N.C.
Repeated as ACC Defensive Back of the Week following his role in the Tar Heels' 38-35 win at Duke • Had a career-high seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a quarterback hurry as UNC remained unbeaten in the ACC.
Also announced early today by the conference office, the home game with Pitt will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. on ACC Network.
