North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has once again captured multiple player of the week honors after his outstanding performance in the 41-10 victory over Virginia Tech last Saturday evening.
Maye, a red-shirt freshman from Huntersville, North Carolina, swept ACC Quarterback and Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season. In addition, he has been named a Manning Award "Star of the Week" and to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List.
Fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for the best performance from this past weekend.
Maye compiled 436 yards of total offense after completing 26 of 36 passes for a career-high 363 yards and three touchdowns against the Hokies. He also ran for a team-leading 73 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns to account for all five Tar Heel touchdowns.
Carolina (4-1, 1-0 ACC) hits the road the next two weekends for conference games with Miami on Oct. 8 on ESPN2 at 4 p.m., and at Duke on Oct. 15 on ACC Network at 8 p.m.
