Inside the Numbers (ITN) is back for the 2022 season and will continue to keep Tar Heel football fans up to date with interesting news and numbers from the gridiron, and will include some of the top social media posts following each game.

MAYE EARNS MULTIPLE WEEKLY AWARDS
Drake Maye has once again captured multiple player of the week honors after his outstanding performance in the 41-10 victory over Virginia Tech last Saturday evening. Maye, a red-shirt freshman from Huntersville, North Carolina, swept ACC Quarterback and Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season. In addition, he has been named a Manning Award "Star of the Week" and to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SATURDAY'S WIN OVER THE HOKIES
• UNC scored at least 41 points against Virginia Tech for the third time in the last four seasons.
• Carolina gave up only 273 yards to Virginia Tech, the fewest since Georgia State gained 271 in the second game of the 2021 season.
• The 273 yards was also the fewest surrendered to an ACC opponent since holding Syracuse to 202 yards in the 2020 opener.
• Drake Maye completed nine passes of 20 yards or longer (including five of at least 25 yards). By comparison, Virginia Tech completed just one pass longer than 14 yards.
• Maye has thrown 13 TD passes in three games at Kenan Stadium this year. Only one other QB in the ACC (Wake's Sam Hartman) has as many as 13 TD passes all season.
• Maye outgained the Hokies, 436 to 273, in total offense.
• Maye led UNC in rushing with 73 yards. He's the first UNC quarterback to lead the team in rushing yards in consecutive games since Marquise Williams in 2014 against Virginia Tech and Notre Dame.
• Josh Downs made eight catches for a season-high 120 yards.
• Ten different Tar Heels caught passes.
• Cedric Gray notched his fourth career interception.
