Gray Tabbed Second-Team All-America by Sporting News

CHAPEL HILL – Junior linebacker Cedric Gray has been named second-team All-America by Sporting News, the outlet announced on Tuesday. Gray, a first-team All-ACC selection this year, stuffed the stat sheet in 2022, producing 137 tackles, a sack, 10 TFL, two INTs, five PBU, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Gray's 137 total tackles, his 10.5 tackles per game and his 76 solo tackles lead the Power 5.
During the '22 season, Gray tallied six games with 13 or more tackles, including a career-high 16 tackles at Virginia. That 16-tackle game is tied for the most in a single game this year in the ACC. Gray's 10 TFL, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries are all tops on the team.
A two-year starter at linebacker, Gray has tallied 237 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 17 TFL, four INTs, 12 PBU, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over the last two years.
