Rowlett Named To U.S. National Team Roster

SPARKS, MD. - USA Lacrosse named its final 23-man roster set to represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in San Diego, Calif. Tuesday afternoon.Â
Jack Rowlett '19 was among the final group selected to represent the Red, White and Blue this coming summer on the world stage.Â
The final roster was selected following a 50-player training camp held in Florida just under two weeks ago, held in conjunction with the IMLCA Winter Summit. This is not the first time Rowlett has been selected to represent the United States on the biggest stage, as he was one of four players making the team who also won gold medals with the U.S. U19 and U21 programs.Â
A product of Burke, Va., Rowlett was a two-time USILA All-America defensemen during his time in Chapel Hill. A two-time All-ACC honoree, Rowlett helped North Carolina to the 2016 ACC Regular Season Championship and 2017 ACC Tournament Championship. In his freshman year at Carolina, Rowlett started all 17 contests on the year, helping UNC to the 2016 National Championship.Â
After concluding his collegiate career, Rowlett was selected seventh overall in the innaugural Premier Lacrosse League draft in 2019. Thus far in his pro career, Rowlett is a two-time All-Pro (2020, 2021) , two-time All-Star (2021, 2022), a two-time PLL Defensive Player of the Year finalist, and 2019 PLL Rookie of the Year Finalist. One of the top defensemen in professional lacrosse, Rowlett helped the Chaos LC to the 2021 Premier Lacrosse League Championship.Â
The United States looks to repeat their 2018 gold medal showing, which included Tar Heel alum Marcus Holman '13 and current assistant coach Kevin Unterstein on the roster.Â
