Gray Earns First ACC Offensive Honor Of The Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After a seven-goal performance in the Tar Heels' two games this past weekend, graduate attackman Chris Gray has been honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. The honor, the first of this season, was announced by the league on Tuesday.
Gray, from Wading River, N.Y., led the way for No. 4 UNC in wins overs Richmond and Colgate. He scored four goals on 11 shots and added four assists as the Tar Heels opened the season with a 13-9 win over Richmond. Gray continued his stellar play against Colgate on Sunday as he scored three goals and collected one assist en route to a 15-9 victory.
It's Gray's sixth ACC weekly honor as a Tar Heel. He earned Offensive Player of the Week honors four times during the 2021 season.
Virginia's Matthew Nunes was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
The fourth-ranked Tar Heels are back in action on Saturday, hosting Ohio State at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on ACC Network.
