Cernoch & Kiger Earn ACC Weekly Honors Again

GREENSBORO—Georgia Tech's Andres Martin and Florida State's Loris Pourroyhave been named the Co-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Players of the Week, and North Carolina's Brian Cernoch and Mac Kiger have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week.
Cernoch and Kiger won a pair of matches at No. 1 doubles last week as the No. 23 Tar Heels improved to 5-1 on the season. The duo beat Bryce Keiem and Callum Rendle of Wofford, 6-4, in a 7-0 Carolina win. In Sunday's win over 13th-ranked South Carolina, Cernoch and Kiger defeated the No. 7 doubles team in the nation, Connor Thomson and Daniel Rodrigues, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point. This is the second time this season Cernoch and Kiger have beaten a top-10 duo and the second time they have been named the league's doubles team of the week.
Ranked 12th in the nation in singles, Martin knocked off No. 25 Phillip Henning of Georgia, 7-5, 6-1, at the No. 1 position in Yellow Jackets' only match of the week. Unranked in singles, Florida State's Pourroy defeated No. 50 Trey Hilderbrand of UCF at the No. 1 spot to help lead the Seminoles to a 4-3 victory.
