Navy Takes A 3-2 Win In Thursday's Nine-Inning Scrimmage

Chapel Hill, NC --Â The Navy squad held the Blue squad to just one hit as they took a 3-2 win over Blue in a nine-inning scrimmage on Thursday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Navy got on the board first when Max Riemer drilled a two-run double to right center in the top of the fourth. Blue came back with a pair of runs in the fifth to tie the scrimmage at 2-2. Colby Wilkerson drove in a run with a single to left before Clemente Inclan's sacrifice fly to center tied things up. Navy scored the winning run in the seventh when Danny Serretti's double to left plated Patrick Alvarez with the final run of the afternoon.
Navy outhit Blue by a 5-1 margin. Max Riemer was the only player with multiple base hits by going 2-4 with two RBI. Danny Serrett, Tomas Frick and Joe Jaconski each added a base hit for Navy. Colby Wilkerson had Blue's only hit. Riemer and Serretti's doubles were the only extra-base hits of the scrimmage.
Brandon Schaeffer started for Navy and threw 4.1 scoreless, hitless innings while striking out seven and walking three batters. Alden Segui, Caleb Cozart, Davis Palermo and Caden O'Brien threw in relief for Navy. Caden O'Brien struck out four batters in 2.0 innings.
Max Carlson started for Blue and gave up two runs in 3.1 innings while striking out three. Tanner Quick, Nik Pry and Shawn Rapp threw in relief.
With rain in Friday's weather forecast, the Heels will hold their next scrimmage on Saturday.
