Carolina Notes
• Carolina finished the regular season 8-3 on the road, including 7-3 in the ACC.
• Carolina won a 15th ACC regular-season game for the second time ever (16-2 in 2018-19).
• This was the first time in UNC history four Tar Heels scored 20 or more points in a game (Armando Bacot 23, Caleb Love 22, RJ Davis 21 and Brady Manek 20).
• There were two previous times in UNC history three players scored 20 and another had 18...1994-95 vs. Florida State (Dante Calabria 26, Jeff McInnis 20, Jerry Stackhouse 20, Donald Williams 18) and 1975-76 at Duke (Phil Ford 22, Walter Davis 21, Mitch Kupchak 20, Tom LaGarde 18).
• This was the first time unranked UNC beat a top-5 Duke team in Durham since 1990 (Duke was No. 5).
• In the game in Chapel Hill, UNC never led and Duke led for 39:49. Tonight, UNC led for 20:22 and Duke for 16:07.
• Bacot was 10 for 11 from the floor, the sixth time this season and second straight game he made 10 or more field goals in a game.
• It was Bacot's 10th game this season with 20 or more points.
• Bacot had seven rebounds. He has 387 this season (fifth most by a Tar Heel) and 877 career (15th).
• Bacot's 23 points move him ahead of Matt Doherty for 63rd place at UNC with 1,179.
• Manek had his third double-double as a Tar Heel with 20 and 11 (11th career double-double).
• RJ Davis tied his career high with nine field goals and scored 20 or more for the fourth time this season and fourth time as a Tar Heel.
• Caleb Love also scored 20 or more for the 10th time this season, third time in four games vs. Duke and second straight game at Duke.
• Love is the first Tar Heel to score in consecutive games at Duke since Jason Capel in 2001 and 2002. Love had 25 last year.
• Love went 12 for 12 from the free throw line, best since Cole Anthony went 14 for 14 vs. Boston College in 2020.
• Love had five assists and only one turnover. UNC is 17-3 when he has more assists than TO and 13-0 when he has five or more assists.
• Leaky Black had three assists and no turnovers. UNC is 13-0 this year when he has three or more assists.
• Carolina trailed by two at the half (41-29). UNC had lost its previous eight games when trailing at the half (since Charleston on 11/16/21).
• Carolina made 19 of 22 from the free throw line (86.4%). This was the fifth straight and 15th time this season UNC made 80% or better from the line.
• The 94 points are the most scored by any team against Duke this season. The Blue Devils had not allowed even 80 points in their last 23 games and under 70 in 16 of those 23.
• Duke scored 52 paint points, third most vs. UNC this year but most in a UNC win (54 by Tennessee and Kentucky).
• Duke scored only two points off UNC turnovers, which tied the fewest by an opponent this season (Furman also scored two).
• In the first half Duke shot 58.1% from the floor, while UNC shot 38.9%.
• In the second half, UNC shot 59.4% and the Blue Devils shot 42.1%.
• Duke's 14-0 run in the first half matched the longest by an opponent this season. Miami did that in a 28-point Hurricane win in January.
• Carolina's five starters played every second of the second half.
