No. 15 MLAX Falls To No. 9 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, IND. – A 36-minute scoring drought from the second to the fourth quarter put the No. 15 North Carolina men's lacrosse team in a hole as the Tar Heels dropped a 12-5 loss to No. 19 Notre Dame Thursday night.

How it Happened
- Both teams battled back and forth in the first 15 minutes as the score was tied at two, heading to the second quarter.
- The hard-hitting and aggressive play continued into the second quarter as both teams tried to find their rhythm offensively. The Fighting Irish scored with 2:12 to go in the half to take the 4-3 lead into halftime.
- Thanks to two man-up goals, Eric Dobson earned a quick hat trick to help Notre Dame jump out to an 8-3 lead to start the second half.
- Jake Taylor scored his third goal as the Tar Heels faced a six-goal deficit heading into the final quarter.
- Eric Dobson scored his fourth goal, and Nick Harris added a goal to extend the Fighting Irish lead to 11-3.
- Cooper Frankenheimer would score his first career goal to break the Tar Heel scoring drought. Lance Tillman would notch his second goal to end the game.

- Lance Tillman led the team with two goals and one assist.
- Chris Gray scored one goal and dished out two assists.
- Nicky Solomon added a goal and Cooper Frankenheimer scored his first career goal.
- The trio of Zac Tucci, Andrew Tyeryar, and Graham Schwartz went a combined 7-20 at the face-off.
- Collin Krieg made 11 saves in the cage.
