Heels Host Liberty In Wednesday Matinee

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina hosts Liberty in the second of two meetings this season after falling in the first matchup in Lynchburg, Va., on March 8, 1-0.
Wednesday's game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra at 4 p.m.
In the first meeting of the season, Aaron Anderson hit a solo home run in the first inning for the game's only run. Carolina pitchers held the Flames to four hits and allowed just one hit over the final six innings. UNC racked up nine hits with Angel Zarate and Tomas Frick collecting two each.
The Diamond Heels lead the all-time series 23-6 but have lost three in a row to the Flames. Carolina's last victory over Liberty was a 16-1 win the 2019 Chapel Hill Regional. UNC and Liberty have split the last 10 meetings with the Heels winning five of seven at Boshamer Stadium while falling in each of the three road games.

- Junior shortstop Danny Serretti is one of the Diamond Heels' hottest hitters. He has hit safely in 14 consecutive games, batting .381 (21x55) with two home runs and 12 RBIs during his streak. He currently ranks second on the team in batting average (.338), slugging percentage (.538), on-base percentage (.425), runs scored (34), hits (54) and doubles (11).
- Sophomore designated hitter Alberto Osuna has driven in a run in nine of the last 11 games. He has 17 total RBIs in those 11 games after collecting 17 RBIs in the first 29 games of the season.
- After having his consecutive games reaching base streak stopped at 50 on April 3, Angel Zarate has reached base in each of the last nine games, collecting a hit in each of those games.
