With the win, Kansas has won four National Championships (1952, 1988, 2008, 2022) and moves into a tie for sixth-most all-time with UConn
Kansas' Ochai Agbaji was named the 2022 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player – Agbaji was joined on the 2022 NCAA All-Tournament Team by Kansas teammate, David McCormack, North Carolina's Armando Bacot and Caleb Love and Duke's Paolo Banchero
With the win, Kansas now has 14 Final Four wins, fifth-most all-time
Kansas completed the largest deficit to win a National Championship game (16) after trailing 38-22 with 2:23 left in the first half – the previous record was 15 when Loyola Chicago trailed Cincinnati, 45-30, with 14:00 left in the second half in 1963
Kansas also completed the largest halftime deficit to win an NCAA title game (15) after trailing 40-25 – the previous record was 10, by Kentucky against Utah in 1998 – It also set a new Final Four record, with the previous record being 11 (Duke over Maryland in 2001 semifinals and Temple over Kansas State in 1958 third-place game)
It was the fifth matchup between the Kansas and North Carolina in the Final Four, two more than any other matchup between two schools – the previous matchups were:

North Carolina falls to 6-6 in NCAA title games, including a 2-1 record in the Superdome.
The Tar Heels' record drops to 2-5 against Kansas in NCAA Tournament matchups and 1-1 in national championship games after defeating the Jayhawks in the 1957 title game.
North Carolina falls to 15-2 all-time in games played in New Orleans, including an 10-2 record in the Superdome, 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament and 5-1 in the Final Four.
The Tar Heels had their 29-game winning streak when leading at halftime snapped, including 21 straight this season. They led Kansas, 40-25, at half in Monday's title game.

Bacot's 99 rebounds in this year's NCAA Tournament are the second most all-time.
Bacot's 14th rebound against Kansas gave him 1,000 for his career and became the third Tar Heel in program history to reach the milestone in just three seasons (Antawn Jamison and Billy Cunningham).
Bacot recorded 15 rebounds for the fifth-consecutive game and 14th time this season.
Bacot recorded his 31st double-double of the season and 49th for his career.
Sophomore guard R.J. Davis' double-double was the first in his collegiate career.
Graduate Brady Manek's double-double was his fifth of the season, second in this NCAA Tournament and 13th in his collegiate career. His 13 rebounds were also a season high.
