Women's Soccer Unveils 2022 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL – The 2022 University of North Carolina women's soccer schedule features 11 matches against teams that participated in the 2021 NCAA Championship as part of its 18-game regular season slate announced Wednesday.
The Tar Heels will play seven matches against teams that claimed either their league's regular season or tournament championship a year ago, including exhibition matches at Dorrance Field against Atlantic 10 regular season champion VCU (Aug. 7) and West Coast Conference winner and national championship runner-up BYU (Aug. 13).
UNC will welcome 2021 SEC tournament champion Tennessee (Aug. 18), CAA regular season champion UNCW (Aug. 21) and PAC-12 champion UCLA (Sept. 4) to Chapel Hill as well as American Athletic Conference member UCF (Sept. 11).
Carolina will travel to Austin, Texas to take on the host Longhorns (Aug. 25), winners of the 2021 Big XII regular season championship. Carolina also has a non-conference game against Baylor (Aug. 28) in Austin and at Missouri (Sept. 1).
The Tar Heels begin Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play at Duke on September 8.
As part of its 11-match ACC schedule, North Carolina will host Virginia (Sept. 17), Boston College (Sept. 25), Pittsburgh (Oct. 6), NC State (Oct. 9) and Wake Forest (Oct. 14).
In addition to its match against the Blue Devils in Durham, UNC will be on the road for conference games against Syracuse (Sept. 22), Virginia Tech (Oct. 1), Florida State (Oct. 20), Miami (Oct. 23) and Louisville (Oct. 27). The Tar Heels do not play Clemson or Notre Dame during the regular season.
UNC returns eight lettermen who started 13 or more games a year ago, including its four top goal scorers: Emily Colton (7), Emily Murphy (5), Avery Patterson (5) and Isabel Cox (4). The Tar Heels finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 12-3-3 and 5-2-3 in the ACC with a final national ranking of 14th.
Season tickets are on sale at goheels.com, starting at $64 for general admission and $80 for reserved seating. Special rates are available for UNC faculty and staff members by contacting the UNC Athletics Ticket Office.
