Tar Heels Named To U21 World Lacrosse Teams

CHAPEL HILL – Three North Carolina men's lacrosse players have been named to U21 World Lacrosse teams. Lance Tillman will compete for Team USA, while Ty English and Matt Wright will take the field for Team Canada. The three players will compete in the 2022 World Lacrosse Men's U21 World Championship, which will take place Aug. 10-20, 2022, in Limerick, Ireland.
Tillman, a rising senior attackman from Highlands Ranch, Colo., scored 21 goals, nine assists, nine ground balls, and two caused turnovers during the 2022 season. He played in all 14 games and started 11 while scoring two or more goals in nine games.
English, a rising sophomore midfielder from Burlington, Ontario, saw action in four games as a true freshman in 2022. He made his Tar Heel debut against Richmond on Feb. 11. English collected a ground ball in games versus Colgate and Brown.
Wright, a rising senior defenseman from Oakville, Ontario, saw action in 10 games and started three in 2022. His 27 ground balls were tied for fourth-best on the team. He was also named to the ACC All-Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll.
