Downs Tabbed For Walter Camp Watch List

Another day brings another preseason watch list citation for North Carolina wide receiver Josh Downs. This time it's the Walter Camp 2022 Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.
Downs, the junior standout from Suwanee, Ga., had a breakout 2021 campaign when he set program records with 101 receptions and 1,335 receiving yards.
He led all players named to the 2022 All-ACC Preseason Team with 128 votes at wide receiver and was also selected as the team specialist with 56 votes at that position. Downs ranked third in the ACC (13th nationally) averaging 9.8 yards per punt return.
Downs enters the fall on the watch lists for three major college football awards, the Biletnikoff Award (outstanding FBS receiver), the Maxwell Award, handed out each season to the College Player of the Year since 1937, and now the Walter Camp.
