CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Nine members of the North Carolina gymnastics team earned Scholastic All-America honors for the 2021-22 academic year, as announced by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association on Wednesday afternoon.
The nine Tar Heels recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom include Elizabeth Culton, Bri Greenlow, Julia Knower, Allison LaNasa, Julianna Love, Bella Miller, Sophie Silverstein, Shailyn St. Brice and Emery Summey.
To earn WCGA Scholastic All-America status, student-athletes must have either a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 or a minimum 3.5 GPA for the academic year.

Culton, who has maintained a team-high cumulative GPA of 3.89, was also named the 2022 East Atlantic Gymnastics League Scholar of the Year back in March.Â
In addition to the nine Scholastic All-America selections, North Carolina was one of 77 programs nationwide that registered a team GPA above 3.0. The Tar Heels finished the 2021-22 academic year with a 3.23 mark. Â
