August 9, 2022 | Women's Basketball
UNC junior Alyssa Ustby has been named to the 2022 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 U23 Nations League team and will make her USA Basketball debut later this month in the Dominican Republic.
Ustby, from Rochester, Minn., was one of 11 players vying for six spots at tryouts in Miami Aug. 5-8. After being selected for the roster, she'll take part in training camp Aug. 9-11.
The U.S. men's and women's teams will compete in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from Aug. 13-19.
"Alyssa earned the opportunity to try out for this team and played her way onto the roster with the relentlessness and versatility that we have come to trust in her game," UNC coach Courtney Banghart said. "We are so enormously proud that she'll be representing the Carolina blue while wearing the red, white, and blue as she goes for gold."
In addition to Ustby, the USA Basketball 2022 3x3 U23 Women's Nations League Team includes Aaliyah Moore (Texas), Maddy Siegrist (Villanova), Celeste Taylor (Duke), Kayla Wells (Texas A&M) and Maddy Westbeld (Notre Dame).
