Green To Participate In Shrine Bowl

CHAPEL HILL – University of North Carolina WR Antoine Green has been selected to play with the East team in the 98th annual East-West Shrine Bowl. The game will be played on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m in Las Vegas, Nev. and will air on NFL Network.

The Shrine Bowl, held in Allegiant Stadium, will have its first ever NFL staffs from two major teams coaching with the East and West teams. The Atlanta Falcons were assigned to coach the East team, and the New England Patriots will coach the West Team. The practices will have 130 players from across the country that will be held from Jan. 28 through Jan. 31.

Green, a five-year veteran, appeared in 48 games, and had a total of 24 starts. He caught 90 passes for 1,710 yards and 15 TDs. Last year as a senior, the Rockledge, Fla. native posted 43 receptions for 798 yards and seven TDs. His 798 yards ranked second on the team and ninth in the ACC, while his seven TDs were sixth in the league. His 18.56 yards per catch led the team and ranked third in the league. As a result, Green earned third- team All-ACC honors and followed that with an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.
