January 30, 2023 | Football
CHAPEL HILL – University of North Carolina OL Asim Richards has been selected to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl. The game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2:30 p.m. in Mobile, Ala. and will air on NFL Network.
The Reese's Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama the past 73 years. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 900 media members from around the country were credentialed last year. The practices will be held from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
A four-year letterman, Richards appeared in 48 games as a Tar Heel, starting 38. He helped the Tar Heels lead the ACC in rushing yards in two of his seasons as a starter, and was a mainstay at left tackle for one of the nation's most explosive offenses. Last season, Richards started all 14 games and played 1,049 snaps. He allowed just three sacks on the year en route to third-team All-ACC honors.
