January 4, 2023 | Men's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Entering year 15 under the direction of head coach Joe Breschi, the North Carolina men's lacrosse program revealed its 2023 schedule Wednesday afternoon.
The 14-contest slate, which features eight home games, five road affairs and one neutral site clash, gets underway on Feb. 10 when the Tar Heels welcome Mercer to Dorrance Field.
Following the matchup with the Bears, UNC hits the road for three consecutive games against Johns Hopkins (Feb. 14) and Ohio State (Feb. 19), closing out the road swing with the Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Syracuse (Feb. 26).
For the first time since the 2021 season, the Tar Heels will play a home game inside Kenan Stadium, when North Carolina plays hosts to Denver (March 4).
After an Alumni Weekend contest with Brown (March 11), UNC will embark on four games in eight days, traveling to Duke (March 17) and finishing with three-straight home showdowns against Dartmouth (March 19), High Point (March 22) and Providence (March 25).
To begin the month of April, a Friday night clash with Virginia (April 7) begins the final homestretch for UNC in ACC play.
A matchup with Syracuse (April 15) in Olney, Md. serves as the first regular season, neutral site conference game for the Tar Heels since 2010. The Tar Heels close out the campaign with two-straight contests against Notre Dame, on the road (April 22) and in Chapel Hill (May 6).
