How It Happened
- Ally Sentnor had three of UNC's four shots during the opening 45 minutes of play with two landing on target, which were both ultimately denied by Wake Forest's keeper.
- The home team had an opportunity with two minutes left on the clock in the first half, but Emmie Allen was there for the save as both teams ended the first half locked at zero apiece.
- UNC got on the board in the 59th minute during the second phase of a Sentnor corner kick when Emily Moxley sent a pass over the top to find Patterson inside the box. With no defender around, Patterson won her 1v1 battle with Wake's goalkeeper, sending a left-footed shot to the lower right.
- The Demon Deacons found the equalizer in the 78th minute as the in-state rivals settled for a 1-1 tie and one point in ACC play.
- Patterson is now tied for the team lead with five goals, also ranking second on the roster with 12 points.
- Sentnor had a game-high four shots with UNC holding a slight 9-6 edge in that category. It was the fewest shots the Tar Heels have taken this year.
- Allen made one save while she, along with Kayleigh Herr, King and Moxley, logged a full 90 minutes.
- Carolina maintains its lead in the all-time series with Wake Forest at 34-2-3, including 14-1-1 in Winston-Salem.
- Emily Colton went head-to-head with her twin sister, WF's Abbie Colton, for the first time in their careers.
