Four Tar Heels Named ACC Players Of The Week

Charlotte, N.C. - After a thrilling, 41-31 victory over the Miami Hurricanes, North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, running back Omarion Hampton, wide receiver Devontez Walker and linebacker Cedric Gray were named ACC Players of the Week Monday afternoon.
Maye, a back-to-back winner of the ACC Quarterback of the Week, threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns. He was also named to the Week 7 Davey O'Brien Great 8 following his performance against the Hurricanes. Maye has now been named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 for the second consecutive week.
Hampton, now a two-time ACC running back of the week, compiled 197 yards on 24 carries with a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the Tar Heels 41-31 victory.
Walker, a first time ACC Player of the Week winner, recorded six receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns in only his second game as a Tar Heel.
Gray, a preseason All-ACC choice, was named the Co-ACC Linebacker of the Week following his performance against Miami. Gray recorded 10 total tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup against the Hurricanes. During last week's game, Gray recorded his 300th career tackle as a Tar Heel.
UNC hosts Virginia this Saturday at Kenan Stadium.
