Navy Beats Blue To Wrap Up Fall World Series

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Freshman Luke Stevenson went 2-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs to lead Navy over Blue, 12-5, in the final game of UNC's annual Fall World Series on Saturday, closing out fall practice.
Navy collected 10 hits and drew 10 base on balls, highlighted by a six-run fifth inning. Jackson Van De Brake, Parks Harber, and Ryker Galaska also collected two hits and drove in a run.
Navy starting pitcher freshman Folger Boaz tossed four scoreless innings and struck out six. Harrison Lewis, Aidan Haugh, and Connor Hegan each worked one inning and struck out one.
Stevenson got the scoring started in the top of the first with an opposite-field three-run homer. Navy added a fourth run in the fourth as Van De Brake singled through the right side to plate Eliot Dix from second base.
Stevenson drove in two more runs in the fifth with a two-out single to left field. Vance Honeycutt and Harber also had RBI singles in the frame, and Galaska ripped a run-scoring double. Navy added two runs in the sixth.
Graduate transfers Alex Madera and Anthony Donofrio recorded three hits, including two doubles, for the Blue team. Madera belted a three-run 383-foot homer to right-center field in the bottom of the fifth.
Cameron Padgett struck out two hitters in two innings pitched for Blue and Ryan Fischer fanned three in one inning. Michael Colonna struck out a pair in 1.1 scoreless innings.
