Hampton Added To Maxwell Award Watch List

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Omarion Hampton, a two-time ACC Running Back of the Week, has been added to the Maxwell Award Watch List the selection committee announced Wednesday.
This season, Hampton has compiled 923 yards on 160 carries and 10 touchdowns, while adding 15 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown through the air. The Clayton, N.C. native is currently tied for fourth nationally in yards per game (115.4) and his 10 rushing touchdowns is tied for ninth nationally.
Players named to the Watch List were selected by the Maxwell Football Club's national selection committee and these players will be eligible for consideration as semifinalists for each of these respective awards. Semifinalists will be announced on Monday November 13th and voting will commence on November 14th.
The Maxwell Football Club was founded in 1935 and is the oldest football organization of its kind in America. The Club recognizes excellence in performance at the high school, collegiate and professional levels of the game. The Maxwell Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which encompasses the most prestigious awards in college football. Founded in 1997, the NCFAA and its 25 awards now boast over 800 recipients, dating to 1935.
