Charlotte, N.C. - After a thrilling 47-45 double-overtime victory over the Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton and kicker Noah Burnette were named ACC Players of the Week Monday afternoon.
Hampton, a three-time ACC running back of the week, compiled 169 yards on a career high 31 carries with a rushing touchdown in the Tar Heels 47-45 victory. Through 10 games, Hampton leads the ACC in rushing attempts (206), yards (1,236), touchdowns (13) and yards per game (123.6).
Burnette, a first time ACC Player of the Week winner, tied the UNC record with six field goals in Carolina's 47-45 double-overtime victory. Burnette's fifth field goal came at the end of regulation when he connected from 43 yards out and sent the game to overtime. In overtime, Burnette once again came through for the Tar Heels. His first overtime field goal to tie the game at 39 set up the second overtime in which North Carolina would ultimately come away victorious.
