Why North Carolina?
I fell in love with the staff, my defensive line coach and it was an opportunity to stay home and still be close to family. I wanted to give them the opportunity to come and see me play. All of that plus the great education that the University of North Carolina offered made it a no-brainer for me.
What are you studying at UNC?
I am studying Communications and Media and am set to graduate this year.
After football ends, what do you plan to do professionally?
After football, I want to get into some sort of media. I want to cover sports but I don't know in what capacity yet. Honestly, I would take anything to get my career going.
What was your favorite football team growing up?
Minnesota Vikings. I fell in love with those Viking teams when I was growing up. Purple is also my favorite color, so I naturally drifted towards them. When I watched them, I loved the atmosphere of Viking games. I like playing in the cold, their fans are loud and they win.
You're about to play in your 50th game at UNC. What would you tell your "first game self"?
Focus on the details. Growing up, you were used to running through people and in college that goes away. You have to lock in and focus on the details day in and day out.
What was it like to beat Duke in the home finale?
Man, to ring that bell was awesome. I wanted to win that game so bad. It was awesome to get our senior picture with the bell. Our fans were awesome and so loud, it was such an awesome way to go out.
What does your ideal day off look like?
I'll probably be playing some video games and hanging out with my dog. Honestly, I wouldn't be doing much. Days off don't come by often and if they do, I like to rest.
What is a hobby you have besides football?
If the weather is right, I like to fish. I like to play basketball as well. I'm always ready to work on my mid-range jumper.
What is your greatest football memory?
Probably, when I was playing running back in middle school. That was my prime, I was crazy back then.
What is a place you've never visited but have always wanted to go?
Texas. I'm intrigued by Houston. I've heard a lot about it and I've always wanted to see it for myself.
Outside of the United States, I would say Africa. I think it would be awesome to experience something so different from what I am used to.
What is the meal you think you could win a cooking show with?
I can make some good ribeye steaks for sure. I can also make some good chicken wings and macaroni and cheese.
What is the one thing that you can beat anyone in the locker room in?
My style. Hands down.
