Five Named To IL Power 100 Rankings, Duffy Tabbed Top Freshman

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Five North Carolina men's lacrosse freshmen were named to the Inside Lacrosse Power 100 Freshmen Rankings, as attackman Owen Duffy was tabbed the top newcomer in the nation, the publication announced Thursday.
Joining Duffy in the rankings are Brady Wambach (No. 15), Brayson Wilson (No. 52), Peter Thomann (No. 59) and Andrew Preis (No. 84).
Arriving in Chapel Hill after a storied career at St. Anthony's, Duffy was named the 2023 USA Lacrosse High School Player of the Year, leading Long Island CHSAA scorers with 78 points (43 goals, 35 assists).
The top face-off recruit for the high school class of 2024, Wambach was named an Under Armour All-America honoree and selected to the 2023 Senior All-America Game during his prep career.
A two-time USA Lacrosse All-America goalkeeper, Wilson collected NCISAA first time All-State honors three times will attending Cannon School.
A two-time team captain and All-America defenseman during his high school career at Sanford H. Calhoun, Thomann was named the Nassau Defenseman of the Year and earned All-County honors three-times prior to arriving at Carolina.
Joining the Tar Heel midfield unit, Preis collected All-America honors during his prep career, as well as earning All-New England and All-NEPSAC recognition.
