CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina swimming and diving teams will make the drive down I-85 and I-77 to Columbia for a dual meet against the University of South Carolina on Friday at 3 p.m. at Carolina Natatorium.
Swimming results are available to paid subscribers on the MeetMobile app, and diving results will be available on DiveMeets.com. The meet will not be streamed.
It'll be the third dual meet of the season for the Tar Heels, who opened the year by sweeping meets at Queens University of Charlotte and UNCW. The UNC women have won 30-of-30 events this season, and the men have claimed 24-of-30 possible first-place finishes.
Fifth-year senior Ellie VanNote and junior Greer Pattison lead the UNC women with three individual event victories this season, with seven additional athletes posting a pair of victories. Pattison won the 100-yard backstroke in the previous two meets and posted a personal-best time in the 100-yard butterfly with a first-place finish last time out against UNCW.
VanNote swept the butterfly events versus Queens and posted an NCAA B qualifying time while setting the pool record in the 200-yard butterfly at UNCW.
Freshman Ben Delmar has swept the men's 100 and 200 breaststroke events in the previous two meets, while sophomore Louis Dramm has also recorded four individual wins for the UNC men.
The Tar Heel women are ranked No. 16th in the latest CSCAA top-25 poll, while the men's squad received votes.
North Carolina leads the all-time series with the Gamecocks on the men's side 22-11, while the Tar Heel women own a 16-4 advantage. UNC swept the dual meet with UofSC in Chapel Hill a year ago.
