• Carolina has won 19 straight season openers since losing to Santa Clara in Oakland (without starting point guard Raymond Felton) in 2004-05.
• The 86 points were the most by UNC in a season opener since defeating Northern Iowa, 86-69, in the first game in 2017-18.
• The Tar Heels' five starters (Armando Bacot, Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram, RJ Davis and Paxson Wojcik) entered the game with 416 combined college starts.

• Bacot had five offensive rebounds and has 481 in his career. He is one shy of tying Tyler Hansbrough for the most offensive rebounds at UNC (482).
• Bacot recorded the 69th double-double of his UNC career, extending his school record.
• Bacot passed Larry Miller (452) for eighth in free throws made by a Tar Heel. He was 5 for 6 from the line tonight and has made 453 in his career.
• Bacot made 10 of 16 field goals. It was the 10th time in his career he made 10 or more field goals in a game.
• Carolina's newcomers (five transfers and two freshmen) combined for 39 points, led by 13 by Cormac Ryan and 12 by Harrison Ingram.
• Elliot Cadeau led the Heels with six assists. It is the most assists by a freshman in a Carolina debut since Bobby Frasor recorded seven against Gardner-Webb in the 2005-06 season opener.
• Four Tar Heels scored in double figures. It was Bacot's 100th game in double figures and the 72nd for Davis, 58th for Ryan and 38th for Ingram.
• Sophomore Jalen Washington scored eight points. He topped that figure only one time in 20 games last season.
• Carolina held Radford below 45% (42.4%), out-rebounded the Highlanders, 37-34, and scored more points off turnovers (14-11). The Tar Heels were undefeated in 12 games last season when it accomplished those three things.
• The Tar Heels made their first five three-point attempts and finished the game 7 for 20. Four different starters made threes for UNC, led by Ryan's three. He made three or more eight times last season while playing for Notre Dame.
• Carolina had six turnovers in the first 10 minutes of play and eight in the first half but committed only three in the second half.
• Carolina's 46 points were its most in the first half since scoring 48 against The Citadel on 12/13/22. That was the only time Carolina scored more than 46 first-half points a year ago.
• Carolina shot 55.2% from the field in the first half, its best first-half shooting performance in a season opener since shooting 74.2% in the first half against Oakland in 2013.
• Hubert Davis is 50-23 as head coach of the Tar Heels, with a 13-0 record against non-ACC opponents in the Smith Center.
