December 6, 2023 | Women's Gymnastics
The North Carolina gymnastics team held its annual Blue and White Intrasquad meet this past Sunday, kicking off its inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Thank you to our Tar Heel community for such an incredible atmosphere at our Blue and White Intrasquad on Sunday. Nearly 600 fans and supporters came out to help us kick off our inaugural ACC season and the energy in Carmichael Arena was electric. The team was thrilled to be back on the competition floor.Danna Durante, head coach
Fans were able to get their first look at the Tar Heels’ 2024 squad during the fun, spirited exhibition. Carmichael Arena's new upgrades were also on full display, making for an enhanced and exciting meet atmosphere.
Following the meet, Carolina Gymnastics hosted an exclusive event for season ticket holders. This included a meet-and-greet with the team and coaches, a Q&A session, poster signing and photo opportunities. The Tar Heels used the opportunity to not only express their appreciation for the team’s supporters, but connect with fans on a deeper level.
The event for season ticket holders following the meet was truly special. It was amazing to see the impact our student-athletes have on our community, especially the next generation of gymnasts. We thrive on being able to share our love and passion with others and sharing that moment with our season ticket holders is something we look forward to building upon this year and beyond.Danna Durante, head coach

The Tar Heels are eager to build upon their successful Blue and White exhibition, having identified specific areas of focus for the coming weeks in training. With just shy of a month to prepare for the regular season, the team will continue to be back in the gym – training hard, as they do – and the coaching staff is pleased with the progress that has been made.
The incredible amount of work the Gym Heels have put in is starting to pay off, and it was tremendous for the team to be exposed to a competitive atmosphere. The coaching staff is excited about where we are at this point in December, and we’re ready to get back in the gym and work as we officially begin our season next month.Danna Durante, head coach
