Maher Named USILA Preseason All-America, Men's Lacrosse Ranked

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - For the third time this preseason, North Carolina men's lacrosse defensive midfielder Connor Maher received All-America honors, as the USILA released their preseason list Wednesday.
The Timonium, Md. native has garnered preseason All-America honors courtesy of USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse earlier this month, as well as being tabbed to the Preseason All-ACC Team yesterday.
Named a team captain prior to the 2023 campaign for the second consecutive season, Maher finished second on the team with 43 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers in 2022, while also recording two goals and two assists.
Last season, Maher saw action in all 14 games and was named a second-team All-America by Inside Lacrosse, USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine. Maher was also named to the All-ACC team, the ACC All-Academic team and was a selected as a Top-10 UNC Scholar-Athlete.
In addtion, the Tar Heel men received a top-20 ranking in the USILA Preseason Coaches' Poll, coming in at No. 20.
