McGovern Garners USILA Weekly Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina men's lacrosse attackman Logan McGovern has been named to the USILA Team of the Week for the second time this season, the organization announced Tuesday evening.
McGovern's recognition comes following a 12-point performance in two games this week, scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists in the Carolina victories against High Point and Providence.
The Darien, Conn. product is the lone Tar Heel to find the back of the net in all 10 games this season, producing multi-goal efforts on seven occasions. McGovern has also posted three-straight five-plus point showings, including matching his season best with eight points against Dartmouth. In the Carolina victory against Providence on Saturday, McGovern tied his career-high with five goals.
On the year, McGovern ranks in the top-20 nationally in shot percentage (7th - .509), assists per game (16th - 2.00), man-up goals (16th - 4), and points per game (17th - 4.70), while leading the Tar Heels in goals, assists and points, in his first season in Chapel Hill.
Logan and the Tar Heels return to action next Friday night, welcoming the top-ranked Virginia Cavaliers to Dorrance Field.
