DURHAM, N.C.—Men's and women's middle distance runners led the way as the University of North Carolina track and field teams had a strong Friday on day two of the Duke Invitational at a soggy Morris Williams Stadium.
In the Men's 1,500 Meters Invite, three Tar Heels finished in the top five, led by Parker Wolfe, who in third in 3:42.16. Ethan Strand was just behind Wolfe in fourth in a time of 3:43.41, and Jesse Hunt took fifth place in 3:43.75.
Meanwhile, Carlee Hansen finished fourth in the Women's 1,500 Meters Invite race in 4:21.52. Teammate Taryn Parks was 11th in 4:24.99.
The Tar Heels also shined in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase. Sasha Neglia took second place on the women's side in 10:03.62, while Marshall Williamson was second among the men in 9:03.73.
The Duke Invitational will conclude on Saturday in Durham.
