May 3, 2023 | Softball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina softball team (26-27, 13-10 ACC) capped off the 2023 regular season in dramatic fashion, coming back from down 6-0 to earn a 10-8 victory over Furman (20-30) on Wednesday night in Anderson Stadium.
The Tar Heels scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth, the most runs plated in a single inning this season and most since scoring 11 against NC State on March 27, 2022.
10 different Tar Heels tallied hits in the win, led by two apiece from Bri Stubbs, Carsyn Snead, Carlie Myrtle and Kianna Jones. Isabela Emerling had Carolina's sole home run of the game, a three-run shot, her fifth of the season. This is the second time she has hit home runs in back-to-back games.
Myrtle (2-1) earned the victory the circle, allowing just two earned runs in six innings with four strikeouts and no walks.
