GREENSBORO, N.C. - A program record 16 North Carolina men's lacrosse players have been named to the 2023 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
The Tar Heels selected to the team include Paul Barton, Alex Breschi, Maxwell Cooney, Antonio DeMarco, Dewey Egan, Leif Hagerup, Collin Krieg, Ryan Levy, Collin Loughead, Quintin O'Connell, Graham Schwartz, Johnny Schwarz, Tyler Schwarz, Andrew Tyeryar, Matt Wright, and P.J. Zinsner.
To be named to the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Additionally, those selected must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
The honor marks the third academic honor from the conference for Krieg and Wright, with the other 14 Tar Heels collecting Academic Team honors for the first time in their collegiate careers. For Barton and Zinsner, the duo collect academic recognition for the second time this offseason, previously earning Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA, last month.
